Denis Santachiara

Denis Santachiara was born in Reggio Emilia in 1950. He started his activity as a designer for a car company. At the same time he devoted himself to formative arts and analytic work, whose results were often shown in personal and collective exhibitions. Since 1978 he concentrated his technological research on its software potentialities, creating images and objects of high artificiality situated between art, design and architecture. He worked as a consultant for different companies interested in the results of this research. He took part in many exhibitions proposing new categories of design and objects: "neoimage" and "neodesign". Some of the most important exhibitions in which he took part are : Biennale di Venezia, Documenta 8/Kassel, Gran Palais/Paris, Berlage Museum of Amsterdam. His objects are part of the Parmanent Collections of: National Museum of Modern Art-Tokyo, Moma-NewYork, Louvre-Musee des art decoratifs-Paris, Museum of Lyon, Kunsthalle-Frankfult, VITRA Museum, Philadelphia Museum, ALVAR AALTO Museum. He designed interiors for: AQUYLONE(fast food shop)/Reggio Emilia, AQUATECH(show-room)/Milano, La Chartreuse d'Avignon and Museum of Magic/France, ART HOTEL/Dresden, GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM(the new personal exhibition)/NewYork, LE GENERALI(new banking services)/Italy. Designed scenographs for: TRIENNALE di Milano, BANG OLUFSEN. Designed products for: B&B, FONTANA ARTE, ITALTEL TELEMATICA, FIAT, CAMPEGGI, DOMODINAMICA, BALERI ITALIA, PANASONIC, MANDARINA DUCK, ARTEMIDE, SECTOR NO LIMITS, PALLUCCO ITALIA, SUPERGA, VITRA, etc.
